One more year of helping our athletes see better and live healthier.
For over 20 years, volunteers from several eye practices and the Lions Club have participated in the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program. The team did an amazing job this year with 220 EYE SCREENINGS completed over the two days (June 6th and 7th), which is a significant increase from 2018.
HERE ARE SOME ARTICLES ABOUT IT
THE OPENING EYES PROGRAM serves a great function as the screenings in several cases are the first and only eye care that an athlete receives. After the visual screenings athletes may do one or all of the following
- Receive a pair of new eyeglasses
- Be diagnosed with a previously unknown eye condition
- Be referred out to a specialist/provider
- Get an awesome pair of sunglasses
THE DOCTORS AND STAFF LOOK FORWARD TO PARTICIPATING IN THIS FOR YEARS TO COME
